Cannabidiol, or CBD, is a compound that comes from hemp plants. Hemp is a type of cannabis plant, but unlike its cousin, marijuana, hemp contains very low levels of THC, the compound that gets people high. So, when we talk about CBD, we're talking about a substance that can offer some of the benefits associated with cannabis but without the high.

CBD is known for its wide array of potential health benefits and has been found to help with a variety of issues, including reducing anxiety, managing pain, improving sleep quality, treating epilepsy, and decreasing inflammation. 

People with certain health conditions or symptoms may be more inclined to use CBD products. These conditions include chronic pain, anxiety disorders, insomnia, arthritis, migraines, and epilepsy. Some individuals may also use CBD as a preventive measure to support overall wellness. Currently, 1 in 4 people use CBD products, but this is expected to increase to 1 in 3 late 2024.

For some people, specific factors might suggest that CBD isn't the best option for their health concerns. Despite the many potential benefits, it's important to think about the possible side effects (see below) and interactions it may have. Factors like pre-existing medical conditions, how well it goes together with other medications, and how your body tolerates it are critical in deciding if CBD is suitable for you.

CBD is a personal journey that benefits everyone differently. It can take time to find the right spectrum and right strength for you depending on your needs. If you are new to CBD, we advise that you start with Broad-Spectrum and adjust strengths and spectrums depending on your individual and developing needs. Without THC content, Broad-Spectrum is particularly useful for people who want the benefits of Full-Spectrum without worrying about THC accumulating within their system over time from daily use. 

The hemp used to create CBD products is naturally low in this THC, and by the time the plant has been refined and processed there are only very small trace amounts of the compound left.

The most effective way to take CBD oil is to put a few drops under your tongue and leave it there for a 90 seconds, before swallowing. This process is shown to be the most effective way to ensure absorption of the oil. Impact of CBD Oil and how long it takes to work is very subjective.  Whether you have taken CBD before, your weight and metabolism will all affect how much you should take and how long it takes to have an effect. We recommend that you start small and increase it over time to see what works best for you.

To establish the appropriate CBD dosage for you, it is important to take into account various factors such as body weight, body chemistry, and the specific medical condition being addressed. When you are determining the right CBD dosage:

• Start with a low dosage and gradually increase until the desired effects are achieved.
• Consider the concentration of CBD in the product and adjust dosage accurately.
• Consult a healthcare professional, especially if you are currently on prescription medications

While many people report being able to feel the effects of CBD quite quickly - sometimes in a matter of hours - realistically the best way to get the maximum benefit and allow the compounds to have a benefit is to take CBD consistently for at least 8-12 weeks. 

However, there are lots of factors that can affect the time it takes for CBD to work and how effective it is.

For example, someone who uses CBD oil regularly may feel that it takes less time for it to work than someone who has never used CBD before.

It’s tough to give a definitive answer because there are so many things that can impact the time it takes for CBD to work.

CBD is typically well tolerated, even in large doses. Any side effects of CBD are likely the result of interactions with other medication you are taking. Please speak to your doctor before taking CBD to ensure that it will not conflict with any of your medications.

Recognising the common side effects of CBD is important for determining how it might affect you:

• Some people might feel sleepy or sedated, which is common. 
• Stomach problems, such as upset stomach or diarrhoea, has also been reported. 
• Another possible side effect is dry mouth, sometimes called ‘cotton mouth’. 

Though research is still ongoing on the subject of CBD and its full effects on the body, WHO concluded that it was safe to use, is well tolerated by the majority of people and has very few mild, if any, side effects.

These side effects are generally not severe and don't last long, but knowing about them is important when you're using CBD products. Understanding how your body reacts to CBD can help you figure out if you need to adjust how much you're taking or change to a different strength or spectrum.

Absolutely! All products are produced within UK legal guidelines, even those that contain THC.

Both Broad and Full-Spectrum have equal medical benefits. However, Broad Spectrum doesn’t contain the psychoactive (THC) compound. This means it doesn’t cause the euphoric-inducing content associated with Cannabis. You may prefer to use Broad instead of Full-Spectrum because Broad will not induce this feeling, although the quantity of THC is extremely low in Full-Spectrum Oils.
